All About the Timoney Dancers

The Timoney Irish Dancers express the spirit of a large Irish family at a traditional gathering when they dance.

Director Rosemarie Timoney founded theThe Timoney School of Irish Dancing in Glenside, Pa., in 1966. Their goal—then and now—is to preserve Irish culture in the Philadelphia and New Jersey areas.

More than 300 members, ranging in age from 2 to 80, typify the spirit of a large Irish family. The Timoney Dancers have won many competitions and awards and have performed at the Academy of Music, the Keswick Theatre, Robin Hood Dell East, and for nursing homes, hospitals, handicapped children and school assemblies, as well as at parades, and festivals.

A highlight performance was the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland.

Most of the classes are held at the Knights of Columbus on Limekiln Pike in Glenside, Pa.

Children's classes are held at St. Luke's Church Hall in Glenside, Pa.
