Privacy: We ask for contact information, usually your name and your e-mail, so we can get in touch with you if we need to. We don't sell, rent, give or share your personal info to anyone.
We have relationships with a few other sites, and they have their own policies, which might be different from ours:
Links: We link off the site when it seems appropriate. When we do so, we typically will open a new window. A link does not necessarily constitute an endorsement. We provide links for the benefit of our readers. Just about all of our links are contextual. In other words, we generally only provide a link when it seems like, right about then, our readers might want to see one. So if we're writing about Joe's Bar, there'll be a link—assuming Joe's Bar has a Web site.
We do not typically indulge in the practice of reciprocal linking. We're happy if you want to link to us, but we're only going to link to your site if it seems to make sense for our readers.
Payola: Because we're a small site, we do accept items like concert tickets and CDs. However, we're not going to provide a favorable review, for example, just because someone gave us a free ticket or bought us a pint.
Advertising: What we just said about payola goes double for advertising. We won't say nice things about someone's tin whistle or soda bread or travel book just because they bought an ad.
Spam: If you sign up for our e-mail, we will not abuse the relationship. We promise to send you an e-mail only when we have something new and interesting to tell you about. So sometimes you might hear from us once or twice a week; other times, it could be once or twice month. And if you unsubcribe, we'll try to cancel your subscription within a day or two.
