How old is your division? Who helped found it? What have been some of your division's more notable accomplishments? Who is the division named after?

Over on our new sister site—Irish Philadelphia MickWiki —Phil Bowdren is piecing together all of your stories into one big story about the Ancient Order of Hibernians in the Delaware Valley.

Phil, of course, is well-known within the Philly AOH community. A retired cop, Phil is a member of Division 51–Fishtown and the recording secretary of the Philadelphia County Board of the AOH. He's also Philadelphia county publicity chairman for the Hibernian Hunger Project, and he has an active interest in the Web.

With a background like that, we just had to ask Phil to join Irish Philadelphia MickWiki, our new project dedicated to creating an online encyclopedia of Irish and Irish-American culture in the Delaware Valley.

Phil's project is to flesh out the details of the Hibernians' long and distinguished history in the Delaware Valley—and by that, we mean the whole darned valley, including the nearby New Jersey, Delaware and Lehigh Valley divisions.

But a wiki (don't ask us who makes up these silly names) is a collaborative effort. That's the real beauty of it. So it kind of boils down to this—if you want to see your division celebrated in our wiki along with all the others, you have to share your info with Phil.

You can find details and Phil's contact information here. So tell us all about your division. Don't worry that it needs to be the Great American Novel. Neither does it need to be polished prose. Heck, it doesn't even need to be spelled right. We can take care of all that.

So there you go: a challenge for Hibernians. (Now we feel just like Bing Crosby in "White Christmas.") We're pretty sure that offering a Hibernian a challenge is pretty much in the same vein as waving a red cape in front of a bull. As always, we're sure you're well up to it.
